8 " Outside, the sign says “Sushi-Yo” in bright green neon letters. Inside it looks like a sushi bar frozen in time from the ‘80s. They’re playing Ghostbusters on a neon jukebox. Old-fashioned pinball machines light up the corner. The booths are themed after popular bands and movies. "
9 " Why don’t we share the sushi love boat?” “Ooh! I’ve always wanted to get sushi on one of those pirate ships! "
10 " She settles into her seat, gazing at the colorful array of sushi and kind man in front of her. She’s even happier that he wants to share their pictures publicly, something that Evan never wanted to do. "
11 " gets her phone back from the burly guy in the front row and thanks him for recording their duet. He says to Nick, “You and your girlfriend did a great job. Song of the night!” “Oh thank you, but she’s not my girlfriend,” says Nick very respectfully. “Well, she should be!” he says. "
12 " This was perfect. I had a great time . . . sushi, ice cream, karaoke . . . and all on a weeknight. Let’s get you home. "

16 " I don’t know how you eat that healthy pizza . . . it tastes like wet cardboard topped with dried celery.” Julie smiles and says, “It’s delicious the way that Nick makes it.” He smiles at her apologetically. "
17 " Half-formed salt crystals are making her eyelids extra sticky and heavy. She obeys their wishes and rests her eyes again. "
18 " Julie sits in bed, alone, wearing her disheveled old wedding dress, eating what would have been her frozen anniversary cake, and crying while listening to “Wedding Dress” by Matt Nathanson on repeat. "
19 " a singsong voice, Jolene replies, “Well, have fun! You never know who you may meet . . . maybe someone who wants to hire you, or marry you, or both! "
20 " I’m totally inspired. I want to treat you to dinner.” “Oh,” she says, shaking her head politely, suddenly feeling the ache in her feet from the long day. “No thank you, I’m just exhausted.” “But we should celebrate your successful day! Maybe just a quick drink?” She looks so excited and determined. Julie wouldn’t feel right bursting her bubble by saying "
