2 " As we commit God’s Word to memory, our cravings can become triggers to remind us to meditate on Scripture and be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. "
3 " Food cannot fix anything—God is the only one who can satisfy us because He created us to find our satisfaction in Him. "

8 " Our enemy wants us to eat Twinkies after a stressful day instead of praying. "
9 " The truth is that there is an enemy and he's out to destroy us. And if he can't destroy us because we're eternally secure in the arms of God, then he will seek to debilitate us, rendering us useless for God's kingdom work here on earth. This is a real battle, and it's raging all around us even in this moment. "
10 " I discovered that I crave the foods I eat.4 If I binge on potato chips, sweet rolls, and soda, I’ll crave those foods more strongly. But if I stay away from the artificial stuff and fill my plate with a rainbow of foods from God’s green earth, I’m reinforcing my brain’s God-given reward system to recognize that healthy foods are good for me, and that’s what I’ll begin craving instead. "
11 " While we need willpower and discipline to create healthy habits, those things alone will only take us so far (as anyone who’s started a diet only to fail will tell you). Instead of relying on our own willpower, let us beg God for a fresh outpouring of His Holy Spirit in our lives. "
12 " Starving the brain receptors of the stimulants initially leads to withdrawal symptoms such as headaches, chills, lightheadedness, and fever but will give way to detoxification, and in time allow you to overcome the addiction. "
13 " As we put off our old self and put on the new, the Holy Spirit will transform our thinking (see Ephesians 4:22–24). "
