Unlike most authors, her joy of reading came later in life, and when it did, it was as if she'd been put under a spell to devour books. Then she started getting images in her head, fussy little images that wouldn't go away, especially at night. It wasn't until they started to drive her stir-crazy that she finally realized her desire to read had evolved into something else.

However, at first, she wanted to blast the images to kingdom come so she could get a little sleep--but thankfully she couldn't. Soon she had a whim to pick up a pen.
