" Time is the mercy of Eternity; without Time's swiftness/ Which is the swiftest of all things: all were eternal torment. "
― William Blake , Milton: A Poem (The Illuminated Books of William Blake, Vol 5)
" There is a place where Contrarieties are equally true. This place is called Beulah. it is a pleasant lovely Shadow, where no dispute can come, because of those who sleep. "
" And did those feet in ancient timeWalk upon England's mountains green? And was the holy Lamb of GodOn England's pleasant pastures seen? And did the Countenance DivineShine forth upon our clouded hills? And was Jerusalem builded here,Among these dark Satanic Mills?Bring me my Bow of burning gold:Bring me my Arrows of desire:Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!Bring me my Chariot of fire!I will not cease from Mental Fight,Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand,Till we have built JerusalemIn England's green & pleasant Land. "
" Satan & Adam are States Created into Twenty-seven ChurchesAnd thou O Milton art a state about to be createdCalled Eternal Annihilation that none but the Living shallDare to enter: & they shall enter triumphant over DeathAnd Hell & the Grave: States that are not, but ah! Seem to be.Judge then of thy Own Self: thy Eternal Lineaments exploreWhat is Eternal & what Changeable & what Annihilable:The Imagination is not a State: it is the Human Existence itselfAffection or Love becomes a State, when divided from ImaginationThe Memory is a State always, & the Reason is a StateCreated to be Annihilated & a new Ratio CreatedWhatever can be Created can be Annihilated Forms cannotThe Oak is cut down by the Ax, the Lamb falls by the knifeBut their Forms Eternal Exist, For-ever. Amen Hallelujah "
