" Many professing Christians, for all practical purposes, live as functional atheists with little regard for God‘s sovereign rule over their daily lives. "
― , Jesus or Nothing
" The gospel gives an explanation for our existence, clarity for our confusion, grace for our guilt, meaning for our morality, and answers for our adversaries. The gospel makes sense of the world while filling life with meaning and purpose. "
" The famous atheistic philosopher Bertrand Russell once said, “What science cannot discover, mankind cannot know. "
" Creation is either the result of an eternal, personal, and intelligent being or the accidental effect of eternal, impersonal, and mindless matter with unknowable origins. "
" Yet, the gospel offers hope for wandering hearts like ours. The Bible reveals that instead of judging all of humanity in one fell swoop —God visited us in our despair. The gospel is the story of God writing himself into human history. Of course, if God really does exist, then he has been a part of the story from the very beginning. Thus, the gospel is really not our introduction to God but rather our re-introduction. "
" But guilt never travels alone. Guilt begets regret. Regret begets shame. And the three cling to us mercilessly. At first we embrace them out of a sense of obligation, only to discover that they are not our allies. They will suffocate and kill us if they can have their way. "
" This is specifically the point of the gospel: Jesus has taken all our sin. And faith in him cleanses us from all transgressions and all unrighteousness. Jesus bore the full weight of our sin in our place. As a substitute he took it all. He took it all out of the way. He nailed it all to his cross. "
" The cosmos is filled with purpose because there is a God above. Our hearts are intrinsically and acutely aware that there is more to us than chemical reactions in laws of physics. Our short lives find meaning in the Creator of the heavens and earth. Though death awaits us all, it is not the end. "
" Apart from Christ there are no objective explanations, no certainty, no grace, and no ultimate meaning. He alone possesses the words of eternal life. For the first century disciples, and for us today, it is simply Jesus or Nothing. "
" The gospel does not imply that Jesus has risen and nothing else matters, but rather Jesus has risen and now everything matters. We can now live above the line of despair because the gospel is true. "
