It is also worth noting that Paul makes a reference to being “caught up to the third heaven.” This distinction is important because in Jewish tradition the third heaven is the abode of God. In the Hebrew Bible, there are different categories or classes of heaven. The first heaven is up in the clouds, or in other words, the Earth’s atmosphere. The second heaven would be beyond the Earth’s immediate atmosphere, or as we would call it today, outer space. This is the place where the celestial bodies, such as the sun, moon, other planets, and stars reside. The third heaven is said to be a spiritual realm, or another dimension completely outside of space and time. "
