" Overcomers concentrate on details that go unnoticed by others. They do what needs to be done, even when no one is watching. "
― David Jeremiah , Overcomer: Finding New Strength in Claiming God’s Promises
" When a man or woman decides to be a champion for God, they set themselves up for a lot of heat and criticism. "
" It’s all right to talk to God about your problems. But sometimes you need to talk to your problems about God. "
" I’ve taught you and practice the things you’ve seen me do, and you, too, will begin to experience the presence of the God of peace. If you battle anxiety, surround yourself with others who’ve learned how to trust the Lord when life is overwhelming. Spend time with people who understand the complexities of anxiety and the keys to success. Ask them questions. Study their lives. Listen to their stories. Learn from them. Perhaps it’s time to make an appointment with a doctor or wise counselor, ask a friend to meet you for coffee, join a small group at church, or simply pick up and read an encouraging book about someone—maybe even the apostle Paul—who learned how to hand their anxious cares over to the Lord. Let God’s peace in their lives influence the anxiety in yours. "
" Temptation is attractive; otherwise it wouldn’t be tempting. And it’s dangerous because it’s attractive. "
" As members of God’s kingdom, we’re called to conquer the barriers between who we are and who God wants us to be. Our goal is to “come over” from where we are today, and to flourish as the person God made us to be. "
" No matter how good your idea or goal is, don’t expect others to immediately agree with your purpose or vision. You must be determined. "
" For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. —1 JOHN 5:4, NIV "
" As members of God’s kingdom, we’re called to conquer the barriers between who we are and who God wants us to be. Our goal is to “come over” from where we are today, and to flourish as the person God made us to be. The obstacles we must overcome fall into three main categories: sin, the world, and the devil. "
" There is a worse fate than being misunderstood; it is to be to truth a timid friend.”3 "
" It reminds us of a statement attributed to Voltaire: “God created man in His own image, and man has been trying to return the favor ever since. "
