" Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. COLOSSIANS 3:23 "
― Gary Chapman , The One Year Love Language Minute Devotional
" Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time. EPHESIANS 5:15-16 (ESV) I "
" Instead of cursing the darkness, light a candle in your own heart. Say to God, “If you will give me a vision of what a godly spouse would look like, then I’m willing to make changes.” Then read the Bible and look for those passages that tell you what a Christian husband or wife should be. Let this be your dream, and meditate on it throughout the day. Ask God to help you live up to his model. "
" When we choose to love in spite of our feelings, we find negative feelings will dissipate, and feelings of intimacy return. Loving acts create loving feelings. "

" What would be workable for you?” is a good place to begin. Now we are focusing on resolution rather than differences. Two adults looking for a solution are likely to find one. Father, this question—What would be workable for you?—is eye opening. How often I waste time trying to convince my spouse that my way is right. Please help me instead to join with him or her in looking for a solution that works for both of us. Thank you for making us both unique. "

" This doesn’t mean you must be thankful for all circumstances, but that in every situation, you can choose to see something for which to thank God. He is present in your circumstances, and the more you look for him, the more you will find him. "
" Some good questions to ask yourself are, What can I do today that may improve my situation? What do I need to pray about today? With whom do I need to talk today? What action do I need to take today? God has entrusted to you only the present, and wise use of today is all that he expects. "
" In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has” (Proverbs 21:20, NIV). "
" Keep yourself completely above reproach; avoid even the appearance of wrongdoing (see 1 Thessalonians 5:22, KJV). "
" [Jesus said,] “To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge.” MATTHEW 13:12 Y "
" Negative feelings are more often alleviated when they are ignored rather than pampered. When you act positively in spite of negative emotions, it tends to change the emotional climate between husband and wife. "
