Most of the pages were full of smudged type speckled with urine fallout, but peeking at a sideways angle from beneath the top cover was a hint of a dual-colored map of the Americas, and just above that, bent and torn but still monstrously vivid, were the creeping whiskery legs of an arachnid fanning out over the continents.
