Grant Hutchison

Grant Hutchison was born in Dundee, and went to school and university in Dundee. He now lives and works in Dundee. He once had a job in Perth but he didn't like it, so he came home again.

He has been roaming the Scottish Highlands on foot for forty years, and has been writing about them for twenty.

In 1993, he concocted a comic story about a man who attempted to climb all the 3000-foot Scottish mountains listed in Munro's Tables ... in alphabetical order. More of the same followed, resulting in the book Munro's Fables and the ebooks The Complete Lachlan and The Walking Types Omnibus. The ebooks have now been published together in a paperback compendium imaginatively entitled The Complete Lachlan & Walking Types.

He has also managed to get considerable writing mileage out of his other interests. He has written on travel, natural phenomena and geography for Wanderlust magazine, on word origins for the British Medical Journal, and on natural phenomena for the Scotsman newspaper.
