J.M. Campos

J. M. Campos was born in the southern State of Sao Paulo, in Brazil, where he initially worked as an IT technician, before obtaining a degree in Design Studies. He did sporadic jobs working as a Graphic Designer, where he struggled to make a living.

Later on, in 2008, he embarked on a nearly epiphanic 11-month travel around India and Nepal, after being awarded a traineeship position to work as a Graphic and Interface Designer at a small software house, in Jaipur.

Following his Indian experience, Campos moved to Canada, where he lived in Toronto and Montreal and continued his work in the creative arts. He started doing his first copywriting and creative writing jobs for clients he found online.

Eventually, in 2012, he returned to Brazil, where he started writing his first novel, "The Wall And The Abyss".

In 2014, he moved to Berlin, with his wife, where he lives today.

Those travel experiences, along with a short stay in Australia, in 2006, totalled a life in 5 continents so far. Much of these life experiences and cultural diversity can be seen in his works, as he learned, from Kafka, what can be perceived of the world when watching the "ruins":

"Anyone who cannot cope with life while he is alive needs one hand to ward off a little his despair over his fate...but with his other hand he can jot down what he sees among the ruins... "- Franz Kafka

So far, J. M. Campos has only one work published -- "The Wall And The Abyss" -- but a second novel is under way.
