Kari Cope

Kari Cope is called to Christian discipleship as a teacher, coach, and writer. She has taught Advanced Placement English Literature, Spanish, and Bible for over 20 years and has coached high school and middle school boys and girls soccer.

Kari holds an M.A. in English literature from the Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, CA and an M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, NC. As a lover of both literature and theology, she enjoys applying the tools of literary analysis to the books of varied literature found in the Bible.

In her role as teacher and mentor she has especially enjoyed the opportunity to learn with and from her students and to prompt them to think about questions of meaning and purpose. She has been active in her local church, including many years spent as a small group facilitator for women’s Bible studies. Kari is passionate about creating an environment where others feel comfortable exploring their doubts and testing their faith.

In her spare time, Kari enjoys conversation with good friends, travel, and watching her beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. She is the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Missionary Athletes International, which uses soccer as a platform for sharing the gospel, and also serves on the Board of Directors for Atulado, a nonprofit which comes alongside Latin American pastors and ministers to support them prayerfully, financially, and with presence.
