Vinod Pande

After his university education in India, he launched himself in the corporate world before migrating to London where he did various things during his fifteen years sojourn. A civil servant with the British Government, broadcaster with the BBC, maker of documentaries and several ad-films, owner and creative director of an advertising agency and finally the producer, writer and the director of his first Hindi feature film, Ek Baar Phir. It was this film, his first foray in the regular Hindi cinema that India embraced wholeheartedly, which became his return ticket to his motherland. Kolkata was to reward the film with a Golden jubilee in addition to several Silver Jubilees in other metro towns of India. Re-established in India, Vinod went on to make eight more films including much talked about - Yeh Nazdeekiyan and SINS. He also made four TV serials including the highly noted - Air Hostess and Reporter. Besides, he headed as the Chief Commissioning Editor and the Director of Programmes, the launch team of a private network TV in India during the late nineties. He has been the chairman of the jury of several important film awards events, including the Committee for selecting the Indian entry for the iconic Oscar Awards, more than once. Though he has been a closet writer for pretty long, his aspirations as a full-fledged author of an English novel are fructifying for the first time with Don's Wife.
