Denise Wilkerson, BSN, MHRD, SPHR is the founder and CEO of Global Edge Recruiting.
Denise owns and operates Global Edge Recruiting®, a premier executive search firm specializing in medical device sales and pharmaceutical sales recruitment. Founded by Denise in 1997, the company is well known for recruiting the nation’s top sales and marketing representatives for jobs in medical device sales, pharmaceutical sales, biotechnology, veterinary sales, dental sales and general healthcare sales. With over two decades of experience, Global Edge Recruiting is a trusted talent acquisition partner to many Fortune 500 and start-up companies throughout the United States and around the world.
Born in NYC and raised in a small town in Missouri, Denise started her career in nursing -first in oncology, where she worked in the hospital as a staff nurse, and then for a hospice where she managed a team of nurses. After managing a large women’s healthcare clinic for a local hospital, she decided to start her own business and opened Global Edge Recruiting® in 1997. Since that time, Denise has assisted hundreds of Fortune 500 and small start-up companies by recruiting their top talent and assisting them with day-to-day human resources and organizational development needs.
Denise is also passionate about helping job seekers through various types of career transitions. She provides career coaching on resume development, interviewing and personal branding through a sister company, Careers in Medical Sales. Denise enjoys sharing her knowledge with others which is evident by her company’s blog and social media. She has contributed to multiple publications and books on recruitment and has recently written her first book, Hire with Fire, with her husband, Randy.
On a professional note, Denise has a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, as well as a Master’s in Human Resource Development and a Senior Professional Human Resources certification (SPHR). Her love for innovative medical products and devices, as well as her passion for assisting individuals with career development led her to healthcare recruitment. She has over thirty years of hiring experience in general healthcare, sales and marketing.
