Daniel Leaver

I am a simple man that has southern roots. Born in a small town in Kentucky, but grew up in northern Indiana where i spent most of my life. Now as an adult I have returned to Kentucky.
My love of writing and poetry started in my 30's with a short poem I wrote to a love interest and it spawned from there. It developed into a coping mechanism to help me deal with the many forms of depression I would encounter, leading me to write my first book Conquering Depression.
I have had a lifelong yearning for helping others, humans and animals alike, working at an animal shelter for 5 years was one of my proudest accomplishments in the work force. I had to retire from that due to severe allergies. These days I fill my day with an average job and write in my spare time. I live a modest but very fulfilling life with my many animals and small farm. I hope you will find enjoyment in my work as I continue and write on my next installment.
