Destin Bays

Storytelling for me began when I was a child with pajamas that covered everything including my feet. I sat in the living room on an ottoman with my legs crossed under me just before bedtime and told stories to my Mom and Dad; they were short and always ended with a loud “The End”. 


My work with the written word began the first year of college in Dr. Cooper’s creative writing class. Rather than following my heart and continue the development of my skill as a writer I went to work as a pilot. In 1999 I found my way back to the warmth of plot, dialogue and narrative.
I was introduced to my mentor in 2005, six years and one novel into a rekindled passion for story telling. He began to guide the development of my skills and redirected my efforts toward new and exciting projects. “True Love”, my first love story, has been one of the redirections I am most proud of.
