I stumbled into the world of true crime almost by accident. Having left teaching in London I wanted to pursue my passions for writing and photography, initially by diving into a subject that was close to my heart: a notorious murder that took place in my hometown Southport over twenty years ago--its impact on the community I came from, the part played by that community itself. The result was 'A Murderer's Game: The Death of Lynsey Quy', published on Amazon in 2018.
Encouraging sales and interest from the USA caught me by surprise (why would they be interested in little old Southport, I thought?), so my spring/summer 2020 lockdown project became the researching and writing of 'The American Anthology of British Crimes'.
I am beginning to research the next anthology: notorious miscarriages of Justice, with two more after that to follow, on Britain's gangs and gangsters and famous unsolved crimes/cold cases.
London plays a big part in my work and this uniquely diverse and dynamic city fascinates me. My collection of short stories, 'London Lives' is a reflection of this great range of humanity.
