Catherine Lacey

Catherine Lacey is the author of three novels: Nobody Is Ever Missing, The Answers, and Pew, as well as a story collection, Certain American States.

Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Harper's, The Believer, Playboy, The New York Times, and has been translated into a dozen languages. Her honors include a Guggenheim fellowship, a Whiting Award, and a NYFA Fellowship. Pew won the 2021 NYPL Young Lions Fiction Award, was shortlisted for The Dylan Thomas Prize, and was long-listed for the PEN/Jean Stein Award, the Andrew Carnegie Medal, and the Joyce Carol Oates Prize.

With Forsyth Harmon, she co-authored The Art of the Affair, an illustrated flowchart of love and hate between twentieth century artists and writers.
Born in Mississippi, she now lives in Chicago. Her fourth novel, Biography of X, is forthcoming from Farrar, Straus & Giroux.
