" Man will not live on bread alone but will proceed by a word of God." You cannot eat bread without life and your life is in the hands of God whatever your hands and head are there to achieve. Your life depends on the will and might of God. Bread alone cannot stop you from dying. Bread can do so much. "
― David Ssembajjo
" To have a few things is a comfort, reward and privilege. To own much and plenty is a duty and task on one's forehead. To waste creates agony and miserableness. Having less is a teacher of hope and guidance yet above all life is paramount because life neither needs less or much. To love less is a celebration of life because life neither needs much or less. Life is greater than less or much; to love life is an appreciation of life that is incorruptible, that will lead to life without anxiety. "
― David Ssembajjo , Servants of the Underground
" A sane person who dwells among the mad will become insane because they will act like the mad. One who cares and treats the insane will have mad traits. A sane man who lives among the mad will be made mad by virtue of his associations and dealings. No sane person can dwell among the mad unless if that person is mad himself/herself. A mad person percieves madness and has no clear object or picture that can come out of his mind. Remember sore grapes can ruin good tasty grapes when taken together. You can't live amongst pigs if you are not a pig yourself. Therefore how can the mad treat their fellow mad. That is vanity too be treated by a mad physician who thinks he is sane. The treatment of a mad person speaks volumes and appears to suggest and show that they are treated in a haphazard way without a clear path in regard to recovering their sanity. "
― David Ssembajjo , The Stolen Gift
" There are so many roads in the world and all have a beginning and an end and a road lies ahead to be discovered. A road will take you to a foreign land and no one knows what lies ahead. A road is a destination, it is life, it is happiness and sadness. A road will provide and it will take away. A road will uncover secrets yet unknown to man. A road is filled with expectations and doubt. A road is part of a tradition and culture. Wars and peace have a road to cover. A road will lead to torture and death. Soldiers too will take over the road and cordon it off. A road will lead you to a checkpoint. A road will lead you to a wedding. A road will lead you to pray to Almighty God. A road was discovered by God in the beginning and a road can foretell the future. A road has untold stories that are yet to be discovered. A road was created in the beginning and it prohesied the creation of so many roads and those roads will face judgment. A road can make one to become lost and another to be found. Each and everyone on earth has a road to take. A road will give one laughter and joy. "
" A vote transfers power from the electorate to a politician leaving a voter powerless. A vote deprives a voter to represent himself/herself in parliament and a voter is banned from participating in the proceedings of parliament. "
" A righteous politician will make all his citizens leaders. He will know all the lives of his countrymen. He will know each family by name, when they were born, their problems and anxieties and he will wipe away all pain. He will know what his citizens have eaten, where they have slept and he will know all grazing and hunting animals. He will not have privileges and he will govern alongside his cittizens. He will not govern on the basis of death because he is a leader of life. He will not allow death to occur or appear in his country. He will not lead his country to battle and no sickness will prevail under his rule. In his country there will be neither poor nor rich. He will know the fish in the sea, the birds of the air in number and will know all wildlife. He will know all particles of dust in formation. He will know all seasons and foretell a million years to come. He will have no blood on his hands and will not suffer from guilt. His citizens will suffer from no want. "
" All languages were bestowed with a garland of wisdom and possess knowledge, understanding and instruction to reflect the beauty of a particular culture. No language is superior or inferior. "
― David Ssembajjo , Chronicles of a Soldier
" A man will not stand alone and a nation that does not respect work will not prosper. Each man that serves will flourish and one who serves will be served. A nation that relies on lazy hands will not succeed and a nation that waits to be served won't gain but will lose out. A nation depends on its servants and where a leader serves no one can dispute the work of a leader. Can a moon take over the work of the sun? "
" Life is worth living because without life nothing is possible; to choose life is to succeed and appreciate all things that life can give or provide. Life enables one to achieve all that one requires.Life is an opportunity,a privilege and a reward to strive to achieve the unachievable. Life is a blessing from God who provides understanding and knowledge for all life. Yet life is knowledge and understanding. Without life nothing is gained or lost because it is null and void. "
" No single man can change the destiny of the world because the world cannot transform itself on its own. The world can only transform itself collectively. "
" A leader who fails to live amongst his folk will be like a blind man that does not know the light from darkness. Yet a leader who fails to serve but waits to be served will toil endlessly in his rule and he will find no meaning in his leadership. Yet a leader who aspires for glory and fame will be like a cub that can't learn the tricks of hunting. Yet a leader that seeks wars and warmongers will cause depression among his countrymen. A leader that seeks wealth rather leading will make his countrymen corrupt. A corrupt leader will make the country poorer and corrupt because it is his law to be corrupt. A leader must live like his people. A leader will be known by his deeds and not by his name and a great leader will not govern. A leader is an example for all his subjects. A great leader will not serve while the country is getting hungrier and starving but a leader will become hungry like his hungry citizens. "
" Life is a journey that brings enormous expectations and each journey suffers to renew itself and no one knows where that journey will lead and everyone is comfortable with their journey. Who can foretell the end of that journey? "
" There is no master without a servant and there is no country without citizens. There can't be leaders without followers or subjects. There is no harvest without sowing. "
" Man is always in search of greater things and forgets that the foundation of his existence is at the bottom and lower end of his life. Yet man despises those who have failed to achieve the basic gifts of prosperity. "
― David Ssembajjo , Mr Batwala's Farm
" Man must live according to his ability, in order to transform their lives and it pointless to strive endlessly in strife but struggle to have that which your life can achieve. "
" A slave who serves will be rewarded because he is an asset for the master. A slave must regain his independence and handle his mantle if he wants to be freed and a slave's life is interwined with the master's life. A master who brutalises his slave will fail in his achievements and a slave who disrupts his master will not live in peace. A master who protects the rights of a slave will excel and a master who is double-sided will never succeed. A slave who wants to use brutality to free himself will cause strife, conflict and mayhem and will cause disruption. He will ruin his relationship with the master's amicable terms and a master won't favour the slave that causes destruction. "
" A freed slave has a destiny in his hands. He has a sense of independence and a sense of direction. He faces no bondage, he is no longer a collateral and he can serve where he pleases and chooses. He is no longer a captive to work. "
" A slave is not freed by his master but in his ability to be independent and self serving. A freed slave never mourns over the master's wealth or envy the master's storehouses. But must honour his pride and self esteem. "
" Man suffers to achieve greatest and forgets where his footsteps appeared. He looks at the sky and forgets the ground where he treads. Man's attention is to strive to gain rather than lose. Gaining is a ticket for responsibility. "
" Man will not live or depend on money alone. But will live through life to become either rich or poor alike. Life will enable man/woman to earn a living and without life all is null and void. Life will give and assist man to determine his destiny. Money alone can't determine life. "
