" If you know you need to take some kind of risk, then get your relationship with God strong and go for it. You will never know what you could have or experience in life unless you try. God made you an original. That means you are really special, and He has a really special plan for your life. You may have to risk something that currently feels secure in order to go after that plan, but with God's help, you may end up in an awesome situation if you'll just take the chance. "

" You can go all kinds of negative places with the scenarios you create in your mind. But please, just don’t. Instead, remember that God is with you, that He has made you brave and strong, that people care about you, and help is available. "

" Fear starts in the mind and it generates emotions. One fearful thought will lead to another if you let it. The way to keep that from happening is to not allow yourself to camp out in fear in your mind. "
" What good contrast do you want to make in the world? Do you want to be generous in a world that withholds? Kind in a world that makes fun? Deep in a world that’s shallow? All about relationships in a world that’s all about advancement? Start looking for ways to spend your precious time on activities that educate, expand, and encourage you—things that give you life instead of death. Make little choices today to turn up the contrast. "

" Fight the temptation to be lazy. Work hard. Serve the Lord. Keep on praying. And do it all with enthusiasm. "
" If you let what you believe about yourself—and what other people believe about you—define your life, that would be a tragedy. You’ll never find out what you’re capable of. But your life can change the world when you start believing good things for yourself. "
" Remember, God created us because He wanted a relationship with us. Go read Psalm 139 if you are doubting that. God knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb, He saw you, He has always had a plan for you, and your life was written in His book before you took your first breath. "
" The important lesson I learned from these experiences is not to get all worried and upset about things until you know the facts. [...] Things often turn out better than we think they will. We just need to resist the temptation to worry and choose to believe the best about our circumstances, knowing God will see us through them. "
" This was what I was learning that day: in a life of faith, you are not always going to be comfortable. In fact, most acts of faith are not comfortable ones to take, but you can always be content. [...] You can be content even when you are not comfortable. "
" One of the biggest lessons I learned that day is that anybody can quit; people quit all the time, and no one thinks very highly of them for doing it. Only real champions and people of character and strength keep going past the point of wanting to give up. Only real champions cross the finish line when they are completely worn out. But that’s where the rewards are. "
" Living original doesn’t mean being different just to be different; it means being a new kind of different—a different based on knowing who you are, knowing who God is, and being confident that He made you in a really cool, unique way. There’s no one else on earth like you, and that makes you incredibly special. If you can see how special you are and be strong in it, there is no limit to what you can do and become in your life, or how much you can enjoy it. "
" Let me encourage you to start saying positive things about yourself. Maybe you don’t think you’re the most beautiful person on earth, but you can look at the mirror and say to yourself, ‘I really do have a great smile’ or ‘My hair has been looking great!’ You can even use Bible verses to talk to yourself. Based on Philippians 4:13 (NKJV), you can say, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’ Or you can use Jeremiah 29:11 and say, ‘Things may be a little tough for me right now, but God knows the plans He has for me, and they are good. He is giving me a hope and a future!’ You get to decide what you say to yourself. "
" One of them is: ‘Quit camping out in your mind.’ Camping out in your mind simply means focusing on a certain thought, usually a negative one, and staying there—like you pitch tents in a campsite. That indicates you aren’t leaving anytime soon. You intend to stay a while and soak up the experience. Camping out around the wrong thoughts never turns out well, and it can lead to real trouble. "
" I want to make this point: it’s not that things aren’t scary. They are, and they will continue to be. But each of us has to come to a deep, personal realization that God has already conquered fear—and by the power of His Spirit we can live completely free from fear. "
" You—yes, you—can overcome fear and quit living your life as a fearful person, just as I did. It’s not that things aren’t going to be scary; but God has given you power over them. "
" Fear will hold you back from some of the most awesome experiences life has to offer, but you don’t have to let that happen. You can tell it, ‘Go away. Not today. Good-bye! In the name of Jesus. "
" The key ingredient to overcoming fear is not just speaking to it; it’s speaking to it in Jesus’ name. "
" If you will stand up to fear, give it a little straight talk, and tell it to leave you alone in Jesus’ name, that will get you a long way. "
" I challenge you to say yes to whatever you are currently saying no to. Don’t let fear make you say no when God is leading you to say yes. "
" There is something legendary inside of you. God put it there Himself. The process of becoming a legend will mean facing some fears, but the more you walk with God and let the Holy Spirit lead your life, the more your legendaryness comes out. "
