" Only the Vitraags (the enlightened ones) can take a beating from the weak, no one else can. "
― Dada Bhagwan , Simple & Effective Science For Self Realization
" One may not have Gnan (Self-realization), but if he decides that he does not want to allow any “leakage” (weakness; straying away from the goal), he will attain it. When a person does not lend himself to even a moment’s worth of “leakage”; it is called penance (tapa). "
" Gnan (knowledge) is a light. If you do penance after attaining that light, then you will attain liberation (moksha). And with this agnan tapa (penance in the absence of Self-Knowledge) you will acquire the body. The reward of mental penance is worldly in nature. One will receive the fruit for enduring the heat of the penance. "
" Be cautious in this Kaliyug (current time era). Endure the penance that naturally presents itself to you; do not create penance that you are not faced with. "
" Renounce (tyaag) if it is in your prakruti (inherent nature). Do penance (tapa) if it is in your prakruti. Chant (japa) if it is in your prakruti. But except for the attainment of the Self, everything else is a waste. "
" If there are vishayas (objects of sense pleasure) in the mind, they are all vishayas of the pudgal (Complex of intake and output; body complex). But when the inner intent does not spoil, it is called penance (tapa). "
" Whatever consolation you accept, that much penance will be deficient. "
" Divide’ a non-likable number with penance, then the answer will be ‘zero’. "
" Indian life is not without conflicts, and without indian life, there is no moksha (ultimate liberation). On the extreme limits of these conflicts lies Moksha (liberation). "
" If you use obstinacy against obstinacy in this world; you will never come up with a solution. Simplicity against obstinacy will bring about the solution. "
" One should not be obstinate even in worldly interaction. If you are obstinate with a ‘collector’, what will he do? He will throw you in a jail. So then what will happen if you are obstinate in front of God? God won’t put you in jail, but his contentment towards you will break away. "
" In religion, when is it considered that 'One has Known'? When not only does the adverse internal state of being that hurts oneself and others (raudradhyan) not arise, but also the slightest resultant effect of raudradhyan does not arise, to the extent that one does not even come across such a circumstance! "
" The circumstances of those things which you come across, that is prarabdh (effect of past life karma) while the bhaav-abhaav (like-dislike) that arises from them, that is purusharth (effort that charges karma). "
" There are two types of purusharth (effort): one is the purusharth that arises from prarabdh (effect of past life karma), relative effort. The seeds that are sown from prarabdh give rise to relative effort. The second purusharth is the effort that arises after one attains Purush (the Self), real effort. With whatever intent one suffers the effect of past life karma, that intent is bhrant purusharth (illusory effort)! "
" Intoxication over material thing is parigraha (acquisitiveness; it takes one away from the Self), not having intoxication for material thing is aparigraha (non-acquisitiveness). "
" Those who believe the result (effect) to be the intention, that is called the Kramic path, and to believe ‘Intention’ as ‘Intention’, is the Aktram Path. "
" Worldly View is relative (temporary) religion and the enlightened one’s view is the essence, it is the real (eternal) religion. Relative (worldly) religion is not religion if it goes against people’s view. "
" The whole world understands ekantik (solitary view-point) but they do not understand anekant (all inclusive view-point). After one understands syaadvaad (does not hurt any one’s viewpoint to the slightest extent), one will then get hold of the path to ultimate liberation (moksha). "
" Where there is no trace of restlessness (unsteadiness), therein lies the opinions of the Vitaraag Lords (the enlightened ones). "
" This is good’, ‘This is wrong’ both are worldly life; they both create bondage. And liberation is to know that both of these causes bondage. "
