Instead of waiting on the Lord and trusting in God alone, they sought political alliances with former enemies, like Egypt, to offer them protection. It should come as no surprise that failure to trust God and wait on Him, but seeking political alliances proved disastrous. Failing to trust God can also prove disastrous today! "
