The satisfaction they get from giving me money is worth more to them than the money they give. You are a naïve little man if you think that people give charity for the good of others. The good of others is so difficult to quantify. All that people know is their own satisfaction. The vast majority of people who donate to charities do so to make others notice them and think of them as magnanimous and good hearted. Sure, there are those who donate in anonymity. These people are only trying to feel better about themselves. They don’t desire the approval of others, but they still seek to fulfill their satisfaction using another person. Really, they are no different than a patron of a brothel. The satisfaction they seek isn’t sexual, but what’s the difference? I provide a huge service for those people. They are looking to exchange a few bucks for a man’s dignity. "
